-
-Stand upright, feet together, left arm at side, right across body, holding the wand or other weapon upright in the median line. Then face East and say:
-
-    I.N.R.I.
-    Yod. Nun. Resh. Yod.
-    Virgo, Isis, Mighty Mother.
-    Scorpio, Apophis, Destroyer.

-
-  * Raise the right arm to point upwards, keeping the elbow square, and lower the left arm to point downwards, keeping the elbow square, while turning the head over the left shoulder looking down so that the eyes follow the left forearm, and say "The Sign of the Mourning of Isis."-
-
-  * Raise the arms at an angle of sixty degrees to each other above the head, which is thrown back, and say, "The Sign of Apophis and Typhon."

-
-   * Extend the arms again as in (iii) and cross them again as in (vi) saying: "L.V.X., Lux, the Light of the Cross".
-
-   * With the magical weapon trace the Hexagram of Fire in the East, saying, "ARARITA".
-
-This Word consists of the initials of a sentence which means "One is His Beginning: One is His Individuality: His Permutation is One." This hexagram consists of two equilateral triangles, both apices pointed upwards. Begin at the top of the upper triangle and trace it in a dextro-rotary direction. The top of the lower triangle should coincide with the central point of the upper triangle.
-
-   * Trace the Hexagram of Earth in the South, saying "ARARITA".
-
-This Hexagram has the apex of the lower triangle pointing downwards, and it should be capable of inscription in a circle.
-
-   * Trace the Hexagram of Air in the West, saying "ARARITA".
-
-This Hexagram is like that of Earth; but the bases of the triangles coincide, forming a diamond.
-
-  * Trace the hexagram of Water in the North, saying "ARARITA".
-
-This hexagram has the lower triangle placed above the upper, so that their apices coincide.
-
-  * Repeat (i-vii)

-
-Acronym For
-
-"Ignis Renovatur Natura Integra" = Fire Renews Earth Incessantly
-
-"Iēsus Nazarēnus, Rēx Iūdaeōrum" = Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews
-
-===== Virgo =====
-
-Has been associated with nearly every prominent goddess, including Ishtar, Isis, Cybele, and Athena. Virgo may also feature, along with Ursa Major, and Ursa Minor, as part of the source of the myth of Callisto, either as Callisto herself, or as Hera. Persephone (who in some mythologies, notably the Eleusinian Mysteries, was considered to be a form of Demeter) is often mentioned as well, Virgo being visible mainly in the spring months when she was believed to have risen from the underworld.
-
-According to one interpretation, the constellation depicts Astraea, the virgin daughter of the god Zeus and the goddess Themis. Astraea was known as the goddess of justice, and was identified as this constellation due to the presence of the scales of justice Libra nearby, and supposedly ruled the world at one point with her wise ways until mankind became so callous that she returned to skies in disgust.
-
-===== Isis, Mighty Mother =====
-
-Isis (Auset)
-Perhaps the most important goddess of all Egyptian mythology, Isis assumed, during the course of Egyptian history, the attributes and functions of virtually every other important goddess in the land.
-
-Her most important functions, however, were those of motherhood, marital devotion, healing the sick, and the working of magical spells and charms. She was believed to be the most powerful magician in the universe, owing to the fact that she had learned the Secret Name of Ra from the god himself. She was the sister and wife of Osiris, sister of Set, and twin sister of Nephthys. She was the mother of Horus the Child (Hoor-par-kraat), and was the protective goddess of Horus's son Amset, protector of the liver of the deceased.
-
-Isis was responsible for protecting Horus from Set during his infancy; for helping Osiris to return to life; and for assisting her husband to rule in the land of the Dead.
-
-===== Scorpio (a water sign) =====
-
-Scorpio resembles quite noticeably a scorpion's tail, and a vague body. According to Greek mythology, it corresponds to the scorpion which was sent by Gaia (or possibly the goddess Hera) to kill the hunter Orion, the scorpion rising out of the ground at the goddess' command to attack. Although the scorpion and Orion appear together in this myth, the constellation of Orion is almost opposite to Scorpius in the night sky. It has been suggested that this was a divine precaution to forestall the heavenly continuation of the feud.
-
-In many versions, however, Apollo sent the scorpion after Orion, having grown jealous of Artemis' attentions to the man. Later, to apologize for killing her friend, Apollo then helped Artemis hang Orion's image in the night sky. However, the scorpion was also placed up there, and every time it appears on the horizon, Orion starts to sink into the other side of the sky, still running from the attacker.
-
-Scorpius also appears in one version of the fable of Phaethon, a foolish mortal who obtained permission to drive the Apollo's sun-chariot for a day. The horses, already out of control in their sky journey became scared when they encountered the great celestial scorpion with its sting raised to strike, and the inexperienced boy lost control of the chariot, as the sun wildly went about the sky (this is said to have formed the constellation Eridanus). Finally, Jupiter struck him down with a thunderbolt to stop the rampage.
-
-The Chinese included these stars in the Azure Dragon, a powerful but benevolent creature whose rising heralded spring.
-
-===== Apophis =====
-
-In Egyptian mythology, Apep (called Apophis by the Greeks) was an evil demon that represented darkness and chaos and opposed light and order. He was the sun-god Ra's greatest enemy, and he opposed the concepts of order and balance embodied by Ma'at.
-
-Before the beginning of time, Apep was formed from Neith's saliva, which she spat into the primordial waters embodied by Nu, a god of chaos.
-
-Every night Apep sought to destroy light and order by devouring Ra's Sun Boat, the "Boat of Millions of Years", as it passed through Duat, the underworld. In some stories Apep waited for Ra in a mountain in the west called Bakhu, and in others he lurked just before dawn in the "Tenth Region of the Night". If Apep were to defeat Ra, darkness and disorder would prevail. Occasionally Apep did succeed, the result being a thunderstorm, earthquake or even a solar eclipse. But inevitably Ra's defenders would free the Sun Boat from Apep's belly.

-===== Sol – sun, Ra =====
-
-===== Osiris =====
-
-Osiris is one of the most important of Ancient Egyptian deities. He is a life-death-rebirth deity, and one of the Ennead. He was eventually buried in the city of Abydos, of which he was the patron deity.
-
-Osiris was the Egyptian god of the underworld, as well as a fertility and agricultural deity. With his wife, Isis, he was the father of Horus.
-
-Osiris was murdered by his brother, Set, who then chopped the body into smaller pieces. Isis and Nepthys, her sister, found the pieces (except his phallus, which had been eaten by the Oxyrhynchus fish) and gave wax models of them to the priests to worship. Ra sent Anubis and Thoth to mummify Osiris and Isis brought life back into his body. Afterwards, Osiris had to stay in the underworld and judge the souls of the dead and was called Neb-er-tcher ("lord of the outermost limit").
-
-Isis with the help of her sister Nephthys brought him back to life using their magical powers. Before revenge could be brought upon Set he struck again and this time dismembered Osiris into thirteen parts (some accounts say fifteen) and hid them throughout the land. Isis searched the land for the pieces and spent many years doing so for Set had hidden them well, but she was not able to find all of them. The missing piece was his member, but she put together what she had and once again brought Osiris back to life.
-
-This time she took no chances and kept him hidden until he had made her pregnant. Isis's magic could not keep him alive like this for too long and he died once more. The other gods decided to make him king of the underworld where he reigned over the dead but not before his death had been avenged.
