The Middle Pillar Ritual, as described by Israel Regardie, is a meditative exercise used in Western occult traditions, particularly within the realms of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and related offshoots. It involves a series of visualizations and vibrations of god names to align and stimulate the psychic energy centers (Sephiroth) along the middle of the body, corresponding to the Tree of Life in Kabbalistic tradition.

Step One:

  1. Stand facing east behind your altar (if available).
  2. Relax your arms at your sides, close your eyes, and steady your breathing.
  3. Focus on achieving a calm and still mental state.

Step Two:

  1. Concentrate on a sphere of white brilliance just above the top of your head, representing your Higher Self or spiritual link.
  2. Vibrate the God name EHEIEH (“Eh-heh-yeh”) to brighten this sphere.

Step Three:

  1. Visualize a beam of light descending from the top sphere to the nape of your neck, forming a smaller sphere.
  2. Vibrate “YHVH Elohim” focusing on the connection between consciousness and the higher self, your breath and communication.

Step Four:

  1. Extend the beam of light to the solar plexus to form another sphere, symbolizing personal consciousness.
  2. Vibrate “YHVH Eloah Ve Da'ath” to enhance this center, developing a sense of openness, love, and expansion here.

Step Five:

  1. Further, descend the light to the genital area to acknowledge mastery over the physical self.
  2. Vibrate “Shadai El Chai” at this sphere, developing a sense of virility, sexuality, and life force there.

Step Six:

  1. Finally, bring the light down to cover both feet and the ground, connecting with the physical world.
  2. Vibrate “Adonai Ha Aretez” to solidify the grounding.

Step Seven:

  1. Visualize each sphere connected with beams of light, forming a column through the center of your body.

Step Eight:

  1. Remain in this visualized state as desired, then gradually allow the imagery to fade while maintaining the energetic alignment.

It's crucial to feel the vibrations in the corresponding body parts and to approach any difficulties with patience and regular practice. Record your experiences in a ritual diary for progress tracking.
